Computers are falsely advertised ripoff

Internet & Web

The aol computers which are for sale at all comp usa stores are advertised incorrectly. The sticker states "$299.99 with a 12 month aol membership commitment at $23.90 a month. Open to new and current aol members in the U.S." this is false advertisement. I am a current aol account member and was told i could not add a commitment to my existing account. Finally an aol rep told me "just create a new account so you can take the computer home then call and tell aol that you want to move the 12 month commitment to your old account and delete the new account" i specifically asked "will they tell me to pound sand?" and she said "no, if they do, send me an email". Well guess what. It can't be done. Tim in cancellation told me "oh you had to have bought the $399 computer". Liar. Billing then told me the same answer i had been told before. That i couldn't add a 12 month commitment to my existing account. The sticker wording should have stated "open to new aol members" obviously. I have reported this to the bbb as well as comp usa. I'm still sending notes to aol. Nobody needs two aol memberships. $67.80 for aol memberships a month is ridiculous.
