Ripoff Poor Craftsmanship, No Response From Proprieto

Recently I ordered some breast cancer support bracelets from www.thebcmall.com. The bracelets were silver cuffs with a pink enamel ribbon on each of them.
The first time I wore my bracelet, the enamel ribbon fell off. I had given the second bracelet to my mother, who had the same experience! Each bracelet cost $8 plus shipping and handling. Not much money in the grand scheme of things, but still... When something breaks the first time you wear it, it's definitely frustrating!
I called "Maureen", the proprietor, right away to let her know and discuss an even exchange. I left a message. I received no response to that message, and called several times afterward to try to get in touch with this person. I never received a response. (I have since been unable to find her phone number on the website, leading me to believe she removed it). I also sent at least one e-mail letting her know of my trouble with her product.
On the website, the return/exchange policy states:
"Returns and exchanges must be received within 14 days from the date we shipped your order. Returns and exchanges will not be accepted after 14 days from the date we shipped your order. ALL damages must be reported within 48 hours of receipt."
I tried very hard to get in touch with Maureen within that time frame, to no avail. I simply wanted to have some personal contact with her before I just sent off my damaged merchandise, which is why I tried calling her and sending e-mails.
This merchant clearly does not care about having a quality product on the market, nor does she seem to care about customer service!
In addition to all this, the merchant claims to donate some proceeds to breast cancer research, yet won't clearly state to whom the money is donated. She claims it is because then too many requests come in. I don't
Anyway, I would NEVER recommend this merchant to ANYONE! Her products and customer service stink!!
