Fraudulent Offer! Rip-off!

After enrolling in various required offers, eMarket Research was supposed to provide a free Sony Viao laptop (in the disclaimer section, it was stated that the unit may be refurbished, or be substituted for another gift of equal value - in this case, just shy of $1,200.) In addition, the company requires you submit a "gift redemtion voucher" via mail; which I would not have realized had I not spent time reading their disclaimer. I requested the redemption form, and have submitted it three times.

To date, I have received NOTHING - not even a response from several emails to customer support (the site urges you to disable anti-spam filters, which I have done). A toll-free number posted in response to a similar complaint connects to a voicemail account, which also goes unanswered. The company has since changed its name, and I have seen many offers of a similar type (free Ipod, free flatscreen TV, ect.) using an identical webpage layout under several different company names.

Due to the lack of response, the overwhelming negative information I have discovered researching the company, and the weed-like growth of similar offers, I urge anyone to avoid this company like the plauge. If you have solicited an offer, report them to their participating merchants (some are reputable - the New York Times and BMG music club were among them).
