ITechLine
Itechline.com big fee, little value

Internet & Web

About a week ago, our Kodak printer stopped working from one of two computers in our home. I was in the process of reinstating the printers SW when I got an error. The installation SW offered a link to Kodak tech support, and I followed that link. Somehow I got directed to ITechLine and that link offered an 800 number. I called that, and asked if I was speaking with Kodak tech support. The rep said yes and I explained my issue with the Kodak SW installation.

The rep assured me he could resolve my issues if I would let him remote login to my computer. As soon as he got in he claimed my computer was infected with a virus and went into a high press sales pitch. After agreeing on a "only if satisfied" fee of $150, the rep turned my PC over to a "tech" to affect the "repairs".

I monitored the techs actions and he did nothing but uninstall and reinstall the Kodak SW. The "virus" scan showed only two web tracking cookies that my antivirus had not yet purged - nothing that would have affected the printer (that was my original issue).

ITechLine "just barely" does what they claim, but they charge way to much for things that I could easily do myself.

Their sales pitch is unrelated to the actual services they perform. Avoid them - they are a ripoff for sure.
