Conduit installed a program onto my computer without my consent - unable to remove toolba

I was looking for an owners manual for a Schuberth Motorcycle helmet and found a link through Google. When I clicked the link it installed the Conduit.com toolbar software onto my PC without my knowledge. Since then I have spent hours and hours trying to remove this - without success. I am not the only one with this problem, many other users have given up and dropped Google Chrome for this reason.

I removed the Conduit extension, removed Google Chrome and reinstalled it. Even tried a System restore several times. At the end of the System Restore I get a message that it was not successful and that I should try a different Restore point. I have tried it several times now with Restore points dating back over a week.

Conduit installs some really nasty software onto your computer and I don't know what else this software does - it looks like it even blocks the system restore program, they have done everything possible to prevent you from removing their software.
