Unauthorised charge to credit card after signing up for running events and "free" training plans through their website

I signed up for some races and free training programs through active.com.
A couple of weeks after my last race there was a 59.95 charge to my cc. Which was not for a race or training programme. It was unauthorised.
I looked it up on the internet and found it has happened and been reported numerous times to other consumers. As far back as 2009.
It happens so often there's a # you can call to have the charge automatically removed.
This is criminal.
