Rewrote a Family Healthcare Policy to exclude the spouse and then took money from bank without authorization

We applied for a family health insurance policy through Golden Rule to cover husband, wife and 1 dependent child. The day I received their "approval packet" I noticed they had excluded me (wife) from coverage. I called that day, March 29 and said that a family policy meant everyone in the family and I did not want their so-called coverage since it did not include all members of the family.

After that, Golden Rule again deducted (stole) money from our checking account, evidently thinking it was acceptable business practice to rewrite a policy from family to "single parent and dependent child." By this time, dependent child has her own health insurance but they failed to check that as well and never contacted us to say they were rewriting the policy to suit them. They overdrew my bank account with this unauthorized deduction, their excuse for this behavior being "the deduction was already in the pipeline."

I demanded a refund immediately and they said they would comply. This was the beginning of April. Since then, I have spoken to no less than 4 different people who have promised me that a refund was on its' way. On April 24, they stalled, saying that if I didn't have the refund my May 1, to please call again. When I called today, May 1, at 1:14P.M. I was told to wait yet another week and then they would put a tracer on it and a stop payment on the other check.

Golden Rule has delayed and denied and outright lied to me about refunding my money. Furthermore, if they can take my money via ETF, why can they not return it the same way? I do not recommend these people as a health insurance provider since all they seem to be able to do is take money they are not entitled to and prevaricate when it is demanded they return money they wrongfully took.
