Dog Owners Beware - We took our 9 month old puppy in for stitches as she cut herself. The attitude of staff was so uncaring. The experience was horrible. They evaluated our puppy and gave us the price of almost $400.00. Everyone we spoke to was all about the money. They ask you to sign a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) document, which is normal, but the other choice is CPR and they want you sign that you will pay them $350.00 or more extra to save your dogs life during the surgery!!!

Well, they sedated my puppy, put 4 stitches in the pad of her foot and wrapped her wound. Oh, they were willing to discount their fees by $35.00 if I wanted to take her with her wound UNWRAPPED? What Vet would do such a thing?

It gets worse... We followed their written instructions to the word. They told us to remove the wrap 24 hours after the surgery. Huh? For an open foot cut? Who am I to question? We had a cone on her to prevent her from licking the wound and damaging any stitch work. Naturally, the stitches popped out, just like I imagined. I called and spoke with

Dr. Ryan Gershenson, DVM and he told me they would need to charge me again to fix the stitches!!! Uncaring and argumentative and trying to explain to me that they have COSTS involved in redoing the procedure.

To make things even more upsetting... My wife and I are waiting for the procedure to be done and a nice man with a fluffy white dog is finishing up at the front desk about to pay; the girl behind the desk give him the total which surprises the man.

He said they had given him a Low and High cost for the procedure and that the total they were asking him to pay EXCEEDED the high cost? Huh? Isnt that the reason for a high cost? The Vet made the correction and saved the man from overpaying almost $200.00 on a $1000 treatment.

Then, a young woman comes into the office and goes up to the desk and is handed a bag over the counter and a " Sorry for your loss" comment.!!! Clearly, the woman's pet passed on. Is this the place to give a deceased pet to an owner? In front of a waiting room of pet owners??? In a bag in the lobby? Ugh!!! We are now off to have our puppy's foot done properly.

This place capitalizes on the fact that you have an emergency and you took the time to go there, they figure you are not going somewhere else. It is clear that they have very high overhead for their beautiful building. My recommendation is find another Vet. Go to the good old guy in his small Vet office. Avoid this place.
