Never received a bill. Sent to cbcs collectios. When called they had no information who the payment is due to

CBCS collections sent a bill for $23.71. I called to find out why I have not received this bill prior to collection. The young lady could not give more infomation. She promise to send a statment proving this amount is owed. This is a long period of time and I do not remember every being at that hospital. This service was dated 7/2 from Allegheny Speciality Practice Network. I do pay all my medical bills in a timely manner. This small amount I would not ignore. If I owe I will pay immediately, I am writing this because I am afraid it will affect my credit because it went to collection. I beleive this unfair due to the fact I have not receive a bill, witten notice or phone call about this amount. I am in the phone book. Collection and billing departments are not making an effort to contact the person or doing any research to find them, it is easier to send it to collection. I am upset and will probable pay this small amount to avoid it affecting my credit reports.
