In 2006 I had an ankle fracture and was directed to a physical therapist who recommended a tens unit from Empi. I specifically said I would only take it if it was 100 % covered by insurance. Supposedly that wa sverified and I took home the unit. Empi sent me abox of further supplies, unrequested and I received a bill 8 months later claiming the insurance had rejected it.
I called Empi and offered to return th eunit saying that I had never agreed to purchase it. They said they would not take it back and they turn the account to a collection agency Pinnacle which has been pursuing me in last 5 years and affecting my credit standing. I aboslutely do not belive I owe them any money and for the onemonth that I used the unit, i would have been willing to pay $50 not over $800. I have since heard that it is a scam that many people have been victims to.
