Rip off Artists - CPAP Supplies

Health & Medicine

This company gives new meaning to “medical rip-off”. First my doctor insisted that I use this company, to the point that I wanted to ask “What’s in it for you”? (I still think there is something shady going on). They take all your information and give you a price, which you pay. Then after a month or so, after you can’t return the items, you get a bill for three or four times the amount you were told. This is on top of what you already paid. When you ask what the bill is for, they say, “We thought your insurance would cover X% but it only covered Y%, so you’re responsible for the rest.” This happens every time, NO MATTER WHAT. I placed an order and made sure they understood exactly what my insurance would cover. Since I had already had this problem in the past I called my insurance company first and got the information myself. They promised me that the price I was paying was all I would have ever have to pay. I document all the information I could (names, the date and time, the figures using for calculations, etc). Then they pulled the same scam again. I gave them all the information I had to prove they were wrong. They admitted it was their “Error” in that what they told me before was wrong, but insisted that I owed them the money and wanted it all. There was absolutely nothing they would do for me. Since you know that in the future will have to buy stuff from them again, you end up paying, which I did.

Then the next order I told the lady that I would pay the entire amount up front. Then I would bill my insurance for reimbursement to me. Then they couldn’t pull this scam since my insurance had nothing to do with it. It didn’t help. I got another bill for even more money. I couldn’t even see on the bill where they credited my account for what I paid. I demanded an explanation where my money went, they could never adequately do it (and I deal with advanced mathematics at work everyday so I should be able to). They insisted that they had credited my account for a past due bill that they couldn’t even show me that I owed or was paid. They insisted that the bill was still right. This time I refused to pay.

Even after I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint, they wouldn’t do anything for me. I offered to settle with them, threw the Better Business Bureau, giving them some money just to end this matter. They said “NO! Absolutely not”. They wanted it ALL and that is all they would accept. The way they act make me sure they do this all the time and on purpose and to a lot more people.

In the end what you end up “owing” them is more then if you buy it without your insurance from an another store, without you doctor’s permission (which you have to have to use your insurance).

Imagine if Sears came to your home two months after you can’t returned a drill you bought. They say, ”I’m sorry we made a mistake. The manufacture is charging us $50 more on your $10 drill, so you owe us $50”. No one else gets away with this. Avoid these people at all costs.
