Not free! Radio ad disguises a free trial as a "scientific study"

Health & Medicine

For a few days in a roll while driving to classes, i've heard a radio ad claiming to be a "scientific study". The radio ad baits women into calling to get a FREE trial of Latavi if they agree to participate in a scientific study (their words, not mine). It is for breast enlargement. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER FREE TRIAL SCAM! This is not a scientific study, the only thing being studied is the numbers on your credit cards! They are using terms such as scientific study to fool women into thinking they are participating in a legitimate study that pharmaceutical companies conduct. THEY EVEN CHANGE THE NAME OF THE MAKERS OF THE PILL FROM SHORELINE BUSINESS ENTERPRISES LLC TO "SHORELINE PHARMACEUTICALS".

I believe this is against the law to tell the public that they are "participating" in a scientific study, when the only thing they are participating in is their autoship and autobill enrollment. Here is what will happen (trust me, im almost certain of this. But, just to prove me right, i will call the number off the radio the next time i hear the ad, which will likely be tomorrow): 1-they will ask u if u want to participate in the free trial (i could bet they ditch the term "scientific study" once they get u on the phone because customer service calls are usually recorded). They will hope that you just equate participating in the free trial as participating in a scientific study, because a free trial is promised in the ad. Now, usually how scientific studies work is that not only do you get the medication for free, but you are usually compensated for your time. This is what people will assume with latavi, and they are depending on your assumptions.

2-THEY WILL ASK FOR YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER. When they do that, hang up the phone on them. First, they will ask you for personal information. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, AND ESPECIALLY YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER! I have a sinking feeling that they will request your social security number up front for "research documentation purposes" if you were to ask why. This will only be to steal information and try to get into your account and steal the money if you won't give them your card numbers. Now, i don't know if they ask you that, but if they claim they need that or your driver's liscence number, just hang up the phone.

Like i said do NOT give your bank account number or card number to anyone! Now, you may think they are requesting it to put money into your account to compensate you for your participation, IT IS NOT! IT IS TO START AUTOMATICALLY WITHDRAWING MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT!

Now, they will tell you that in efforts to save costs on shipping (since they say you ARE getting free pills for participating, but you are not. A few days before you get the pills, you will probably be charged the full price of $90. It is an autoship program, and YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE PILLS YOU THOUGHT WERE FREE. They are not free. They are not free pills for participating. The only thing free is the first few days of order. That's the free trial period. THE PILLS YOU ARE GETTING, HOWEVER, WON'T BE FREE).

The only reason they want your card number is to lock you into an autoship program that will be impossible to cancel. You will not only be charged for the pills you thought were free for participating in the "study", but you will be charged for more pills every month, and will find it difficult to cancel. Even whn you do cancel and stop receiving the pills, you may find yourself being charged every month anyhow.

This is not a pharmaceutical company. The company is listed as a marketing business only. There are no pills that enlarge your breasts. This is only a scam product. Do not "participate"!
