Elitepack Quagmire of mysterious charges

Health & Medicine

A 2$ trial turns into a quagmire of charges on my credit card. I thought it seemed legitimate. A simple trial to see if I liked their teeth whitening product. They tell you you have 14 days to cancel if you are not pleased. I realized after my impulse buy that I was in for some big trouble. I called and canceled right away. They told me the trial was already to be shipped (within 15 minutes of my call!?)
As soon as I got that stupid trial in the mail, I didn't even open it. I turned it around and shipped it back with delivery confirmation. Then I started calling within a few days to make sure they had received it. Guess what? They receive it in their warehouse but only log in packages one day a week. I called customer service and told them it was there and that I had the delivery confirmation no. Then, they said it was received.
Everything canceled. Well and good. Out $1.99, ok, learned my lesson. Then my credit card statement arrives and a new mysterious charge arrives from an "elitepack" for $24.82. I call my credit card company and they say it is for beauty products. I call the toll free no. To see what is up and am told that on page three of the aggreement, I signed up for their world club fitness program. WTF?! Oh, I most certainly did not. Well, ma'm it is in 12 font and not in small print. After many choice words they cancelled me from this world club fitness program. However, I note the cancellation email says this does not mean I have cancelled other programs and offers. I cringe to think what other programs and offers they signed me up for.
A huge nightmare.
