Dr. Puneet Sud
University Medical and Roger Williams Hospital extremely rude, arrogant, patient-bashing doctor who refuses to listen to or work with patients

Dr. Puneet Sud is one of the 'Brahmin' class of East Indian doctors, meaning that he plays God in his own mind. Since the very first time I saw him, he has treated me with the utmost disdain. He mocks my conditions (fibromyalgia, lupus, daily severe migraines, ulcers, gall stones, panic disorder and depression) and refuses to acknowledge them, although my case has been extremely well-documented by other capable physicians. He has ordered around 25 tests for me, and has never once told me what they are for, nor the results. When I ask what HIS diagnosis is, he outright refuses to tell me! Then he says that he will 'only treat within the parameters of my diagnosis'. But again, he refuses to acknowledge the diagnoses of numerous other physicians, and refuses to give me HIS diagnosis, so there is no explanation for why he does what he does, except he thinks I am 'drug seeking'. I am NOT drug seeking; I am taking primarly over-the-counter medications, as he refuses to help me with any of the useful and helpful therapies documented by physicians around the world. He actually behaves as if he ENJOYS making me suffer. When I tell me of all I am trying to heal myself (diet, exercise, meditation, heat wraps, massage, stretching), he barks at me that I need to do those very things (insinuating that I am NOT doing them!) He even refutes the wisdom of the fibro pamphlets given out in his office! He keeps telling me 'it's all in my head'. I am actually very healthy emotionally and psychologically considering all this pain that I have been crippled by for over a decade; but not only does he refuse to acknowledge all the great strides I've made in my own recovery and how well I"ve stayed the course of his recommendations, he outright tells me it's 'not his job to 'celebrate' my progress'! Every time I meet with him he outright attacks me verbally and emotionally, and I leave feeling highly anxious and violated, no matter how joyous I was going in. He barks his very uninformed opinions at me, and whenever I try to speak about my case, he yells over me, makes false accusations, and storms out of the room! He doesn't even 'believe' in fibromyalgia or his own test results of lupus, so how is he supposed to treat me and others who suffer with these ailments? This man needs his license taken away, stat. I've twice appealed to the head of the clinic, but they refuse to change doctors for me or help in any other way; and since I am disabled, out of work and without insurance, I have no other place to go for now. He also sneers that that's 'not his problem' when I try to explain that I cannot afford the neurologists and pain management doctors I need. Utterly awful man!
