I joined several years ago while they had a "Special" I travel a lot for business and don't have the time to use the clubs facilities often. I pay my bills by auto debit{ so i won't be late with my bills}.
They have raised my dues without any warning or correspondence several times. I've been a member for over 5 years and I can't understand why It wouldn't have been paid off by now. I've called them each and every time that I had to change my credit card[due to Identity theft] and I always paid them. This last time I had Identity theft on my card, I decided since I've been disabled in an accident 3and a half years ago and I haven't been able to work out I'd just call and cancel.
I spoke to Chanelle from Pure Fitness about this situation and she told me I'd have to send a certified letter, a Dr's note, etc If I wanted to cancel but, that I'm still responsible to pay. Also that they need 60 days notice to cancel. They didn't give me 60 days notice to raise my dues. I have no lifetime contract with them! I've paid faithfully every month just in case my back would heal that I may indeed return.
They show no compassion about my disability nor any gratitude that in spite of my injury I've still paid my dues on time. I'd like to know if It's possible to sue them for all the months I've paid since my injury. I haven't used the club at all in over 3 years.in order to terminate my membership I need to send a registered letter. That was not in my original contract. I'd like to go through all my credit card statements and see how much they actually owe me. This club would continue to charge you If you were dead. They won't leave a person alone that needs $85k for surgery! Maybe i should sue them for harassing me! I've had it!
