Melaleuca - The Wellness Company
They make it EXTREMELY difficult to cancel and make sure to rip you off in the process. This company is a joke!

Health & Medicine

A "friend" of mine joined Melaleuca as a sales rep, and raved about the vitamins and the company. Once I heard that you have to buy a membership just to buy their products, and commit to spending a certain amount of money each month - I wasn't interested.
After months of this friend practically BEGGING me to sign up as a customer and try the vitamins, and assuring me that if I wasn't satisfied I could return them for a refund; in a weak moment I caved in. The whole thing was so awkward, but I felt sorry for her being involved in this pyramid scheme and thought it couldn't hurt to try the vitamins that she'd been pitching over and over and over again. What a huge mistake that turned out to be.
She signed me up, and within a few days I knew that I had made a mistake, and as much as I wanted to support my friend, I knew I didn't want to pay $65 a month for vitamins - and there was NOTHING else I wanted to purchase from them, but you cant just buy vitamins, you have to spend a certain amount every month. I told her that I didn't want to do it after all, and called to cancel my shipment and membership.
I waited on hold for 22 minutes to talk to someone, and when I finally got them on the phone, they said that it was too late to cancel that month. They didn't care that I had joined that same week. They said that I was going to receive the shipment anyway and that I'd need to send it back and that if I wanted to cancel that I had to send them a letter and give them a reason why I wanted to cancel. (Who makes you give a reason why?)
I received the box and paid to have it shipped back, and enclosed the cancellation letter. End of story right? Wrong.
A couple weeks later I got an email saying that they had shipped my next order, to which I called and told them that I had returned the first box, and sent in a cancellation letter. They said that I was supposed to send the cancellation letter to a different address then where I shipped the box, and that it was too late for them to not ship the 2nd box. And of course, that my membership was still not canceled.
I sent a second cancellation letter, and called them again to make sure that I wouldn't receive anything else, and that I would be refunded the $65 for the vitamins. I was told that I needed to wait until they received the shipment back, and then call again to ask for a refund because they "wouldn't know what I wanted them to do with the boxes" that I shipped back.
After multiple phone calls, I finally got the membership fee back but have yet to see a refund for the vitamins (it's been 3 weeks). All in all I have called at least 10 times, sent 2 letters, and had to ship back 2 boxes.
This company is a scam and a total rip-off.
