On-line employment application asks for social security number, date of birth and drivers license number!

24 Hour Fitness will not allow you to apply for a job simply by walking into the club, as in the olden days, and filling out a paper application. You must apply on line, which is fine except the application is a total invasion of privacy and an ID thief's dream come true. They ask for your Social Security number, DATE OF BIRTH, and drivers license number, all in one fell swoop. And, all of this up front without ever seeing you, interviewing you. Or there being any offer of a job on the table.
Frank Abagnale, immortalized by Leonardo DiCaprio in "Catch Me If You Can', was a master thief who was finally hired by the Feds to assist in fraud prevention. Mr. Abagnales's writings warn sternly against giving out the above-referenced information on any initial application for employment, or any other document. This type of inquiry should be later down the line after an interview, etc.
These pieces of information are all that is needed to STEAL YOUR LIFE. 24 Hour Fitness is evidently not aware that asking a person's age is against the law, and in direct contradiction to their statement on line that they do not age discriminate. You can be a super-buff 40-plus year old, but if they see that age on your app, forget it. I have never seen anyone over the age of 35 working in any capacity in that gym, They prefer young dummies that they can underpay and control.
Additionally, they have a very dangerous NIGHT SHIFT from 10 pm -6am. They expect WOMEN to work this shift, unprotected by the presence of a male employee. May I also add there is a cash register on the premises, and if a rape-robbery-felony murder occured, they would likely try to sweep it under the rug with their legal machinations. They have zero regard for the law, as evidenced by forcing you to waive your legal right to a judge and jury in the event of a lawsuit arising out of negligence/premises liability. The managers and trainers are rude and hostile, the turnover egregious. There are better fitness clubs AND DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED TO GIVE OUT ALL OF THIS SENSITIVE INFORMATION IN THE HOPES OF GETTING ONE OF THEIR SLAVE WAGE JOBS! You do not know WHO is really looking at your info, do you? Or what other agenda this compnay may have by gathering such nosey and unnecessary information without ever seeing your face!
