Southeastern Health Plus
Refuse to accept return on UNUSED merchandise that was OVERPRICED. Sold by them for $97.60 but retails online from another company $43.95

Health & Medicine

My boyfriend purchased a hernia belt from a "medical supply" business. They do lots of business with customers that the items they purchase are covered by medicare. I suppose that is why they overcharge for all merchandise. The hernia belt he purchased was $97.60 and the same exact belt was found at an online store for $43.95. When I called the business to request a refund, 1 hour after the purchase, they stated it could not be refunded because it is an item that is worn next to the skin. I stated it had not been worn and he still said he would not take it back. I asked if he mentioned at the time of purchase that it is non-returnable and he stated "if he can read, there are signs in the store that state there are no refunds on this type of merchandise". I think it is just another way that a business has the power of ripping off the consumer AND medicare and we have no recourse. I think it should be illegal for these companies to take advantage of the elderly and others. I would like a consumer advocate or the Better Business Bureau to investigate and make the company reimburse consumers that have been ripped off by this company.
