Pure Fitness
Ripped me off... Twice

Health & Medicine

I am twenty years old with two children both under the age of two. One can imagine that a woman's body isn't in the best of shape after having two children, two years in a row. After getting a little nudge to test the gym out, I went with my cousin using the free 30 day pass... And that's where the trouble began.

Of course I had expected that they would first try to sell me their memebership, pinch my fat with tongs and put me up on a scale, but I at leat thought that perhaps I would step foot on an exercise machine.

Didn't happen.

This is where I admit that I am one of those people who is easily sold, and I signed up for the gym mebership, agreeing to pay $50 down that day and $46 at the end of the month. Just after leaving the gym I realized that I could not afford the twenty-something dollars a month with the thirty dollars a month for child care, so I called and told them to just cancel it. It sounds simple enough since the cancellation was within the hour of signing up and the manager guaranteed that I would get my money back with no problem. But it's not.

A transaction went through in my account for fifty dollars and after trying to get an answer about three times as to why it went through, they told me they would cut me a check. And every time I called about the check, the person whho wrote the checks wasn't there. I figured I'd give this person who writes the check some time to do this exhausting task. Perhaps her hand was broken, or she was missing one side of her brain and couldn't do it in a timely manner.

Flash forward to today when I look at my account online and another transaction has been made by Pure Fitness for the remainder. I quickly called and asked for the manager who was clueless and told me to call back on Monday through Friday from eight in the morning to four in the afternoon. Thanks. That's another forty-something bucks that I didn't have to spend on a virgin and non-existent gym memebership. Plus the other fifty that they ripped off.
