Health & Medicine

I sent for what was described as a free sample of this tea because the new medication I have been given for my terminal cancer caused me to gain weight, (it's an known side effect).

The advertisment states that you only have a short time to complete the details or the window will close. Anyone who has seen their advert knows that it goes on and on. The intention is to rush you so that you don't read the terms and conditions. I could not find their terms and conditions to read anyway.

When I paid for the post and packing (which is all you should be charged according to their advert) I noticed that it was $24.95 (17 in sterling). I am disabled because of my cancer and COPD so I shop online all the time and frequently from America. It does not cost that much to post from America unless you are sending something you could pack a table and chairs into!

When I read the information pack and contacted my doctor he said that I shouldn't take this product as he wasn't sure about the interaction with the medications I am already taking.

It was only when I wanted to get a refund of the costs that I found this site and realised that this company has been scamming people.

However, I have to say that I used their "web talk" button and "spoke" to Martin. When I explained what had happened and queried why I had been charged this amount he tried to tell me that it was because I had 24/7 access to support for this product. I wasn't impressed! What is the point of 24/7 support if you can't use it and no where on their site does it say that you should check with your health provider if you are taking subscribed medication.

I have notified my credit card company about this company and about this site so they have cancelled any further payments and have frozen any payments to this company. They have also started an investigation with regard to this company for any of their other clients.

When I told Martin this he has said that they have refunded my $24.95 to my credit card company and that they will not be sending any more or charging me with any more payments.

Thank you for posting this as I believe it has helped me to get my money back (if it turns up, says it will take 7-10 days). I will let you know if it does.

However, watch this space because I have a problem with Acacia Berries that was on the same advertisement!
