Water filter scam: Freshwater Systems unethical sales tactics

I needed filters to get the high levels of chlorine out of my water. I discovered freshwatersystems.com on the internet by using Google. I needed advice so I called their number. I explained that I had had my water tested and had no other toxic substances other than an excessively high level of chlorine. I bought two filters, one for a shower and one for under a sink. I installed them and was happy. A few weeks later I called and explained that I was so happy with the -dechlorinated water, I wanted two more chlorine filters, one for a different shower and one for a shower/steamer. The gentleman suggested that instead I get a whole house system. I had not even realized that was an option. I agreed. He told me to order it on the website because that would be faster. He talked me through the complicated order (about 12 parts were required). The installation was very complicated. I had to tear down a wall and build a cupboard around the filter. As the plumber was cleaning up, he handed me the box in which the filter came. I read and saw that there was no mention of chlorine, only a list of bacteria. I called freshwatersystems.com. The gentleman who answered the line for customer support, Rusty Hutchison, did not know whether that product filtered chlorine, said he would call the manufacturer, find out and get back to me. The next day he called to tell me that the filter they sold me does not filter chlorine.

I asked how his company would make right the situation. He said his company would sell me the correct kind of filter but other than that they would do nothing. I pointed out that they recommended the wrong kind of system, selling me a useless (to me) product, and causing me to spend a lot of money on a plumber and a carpenter unnecessarily. He said that he had spoken to all sales and technical staff and that nobody had given me such bad advice. He said that I ordered it myself on the internet. I said, "So you are accusing me of lying?" He said, "no, I am not doing that." We went back and forth. I gave hiim numerous opportunities to make good somehow. He refused.

Does getting this off my chest make me feel better? No.
