Sent and charged my Visa for unsolicited merchandise, then required I pay to ship it back to them

I called in response to a TV ad offering a week's supply of an herbal sleep aid free. I had to charge 97 cents for shipping on my Visa. Fair enough.

Got the stuff, tried it, and it didn't work on me. No problem.

But then, one week after the sample, I got a whole big shipment, with a hefty bill saying I'd ordered it on a certain date (which I hadn't) and they put it on my Visa. That's why they charged the 97 cents — to get my Visa number.

E-mailing them just got me repeats of claims I'd agreed to be on automatic shipments.

I finally called and spoke to someone who told me that on the 45-second TV ad it said in the fine print that if you responded you'd be on automatic refills. Nobody could read that fast, and it wasn't spoken in the ad, nor did the person who took my original trial order request mention it.

Now I have to pay to ship it all back, or else they won't take it off my Visa.
