Unauthorized charges to credit card

I ordered some books from ITV Global after seeing an Informercial. Following the order, ITV Global started billing my credit card $9.95 per month without my authorization. I called the number shown on my credit card statement, 1-800-943-1328 to try and stop the charges. I would call and the automated system would put be on hold. Which lasted as long as 20-minutes. After the third time I finally got through to somebody. After much hassle, I was able to cancel further charges. They refused to refund charges they placed on my credit card for 5/14/08,6/14/08 and 7/13/08, even though I had not authorized the charges.
