Wu-Yi Source/Living Lean
Unauthorized charges

Health & Medicine

I ordered a box of the Wu-Yi Source tea hoping to try it out and burn some harmless extra calories. The first box of tea was supposedly sold as a "trial" and I was only to pay for shipping. I gave my account number and was charged 6.95 on March 17 and received the tea a few days later.

Then, to my surprise, I was charged again from Wu-Yi Source 30.85 on April 7th. As soon as I saw this charge pending, I immediately called customer service which instructed me all cancelations were made in writing over email. So I sent the following, which you can see is dated April 4:

Please cancel my order and reimburse the last charge of 29.95 made to my account. I was not aware of this order or charge. My order number is 3215XXX and my name is below. Remove me from ANY AUTOMATIC BILLING as I was NOT AWARE of this! Thank you.

I then received an email back from them stating that:

"You had started off with a 14 day free trial with just a basic fee of $4.95 $2 (Shipping Insurance) this includes the cost of the month supply tea and shipping. Then, you have been charged $29.95 (actual price of the tea) as you completed the trial period frame."

I sucked up the 29.95 loss to my own stupidity in falling for this internet scheme and thought nothing of it until today when I checked my bank account.

As you can see from my email sent on April 4th, I had asked to be removed from ANY AUTOMATIC BILLING. It is illegal to continue to charge someone's account without their permission, which is why I was even MORE furious when I learned the unfamiliar charge of 19.95 made yesterday to my account was from a company, "Living Lean" which is connected to the Wu-Yi Source. Apparently I had also signed up for a membership into something with my "free trial of Wu-Yi tea". Well, I never signed up, nor did I authorize any payment other then the 6.95 to be made from MY account.

Luckily, I still have the emails between me and the Wu-Yi Source tea company, who has now managed to charge over $50 to my account for a "trial box" of tea. I clearly state "Remove me from ANY AUTOMATIC BILLING as I was NOT AWARE of this!". 10 days before yet another unauthorized charge had occurred.
