Ripoff I'm 16 and was taken advantage of by these con artists McKinney

Hello, I am 16 years old and Lady of America not only took advantage of my age but "literally" screwed me over for the next 3 years of my life.

As a 16 year old girl, like every other teenager, I feel insecure about the way I look. I saw that Lady of America was accepting new members so I went in to check it out.

The lady who helped me was sooooo nice. She did nothing but smile. They even lowered the price so I could make the payments every month. However I was aware that I might be moving so I asked her if that would be a problem she said I quote, "Oh definitely not, this is an agreement not a contract, we cannot hold you to anything we only want you to stay for three years." I said okay.

She filled out my contract and told me to sign on the line. I asked her again about this not being a contract (my mom told me never to sign a contract without her) she assured me cancellation would not be a problem, after all it is only an agreement.

Well, we are moving to Maine and not only do I not have the money to pay for it anymore, and I have had to stop using the facilities due to car issues. I went to cancel my "agreement" and was informed, in a very rude manner, that I have a contractual agreement and cannot cancel.

At this time my mother called customer service, they said it was impossible for me to cancel because I signed a contract. She told them of the misrepresentation, they said it was that individual franchise and could do nothing about it, but when we called Lady of America-Mckinney they said it was something Customer Service had to take care of.

Nothing has been resolved, as far as I know I'll be paying this stupid 52 dollars that I don't have for the next three years. The way they took advantage of my age and naivete was wrong.

I guess I learned one thing, I WILL NEVER TRUST ANYONE AGAIN!!! There are too many scam artists out there, unfortunately Lady of America is too big to mess with.
