FMLA Rip Off

Forrest General Hospital is one of the worse places to work in southeast Mississippi. I have been a RN for the past 25 years and I have worked in some bad places but never one that treats its employees as if they were disposable when used up or in ill health like Forrest General does. I worked there for seven years and during that time I developed several illnesses and one that had worsened. I was told by the hospital that I need to file for FMLA, which I did. I used it as needed over the years.

Last year I developed more problems with heart disease and diabetes and was under the care of my physicians. I was on FMLA, I was about to be released, at my request, to go back to work. I had been released to return to work on a Friday, the Monday before I was called by Administration and told that my FMLA was up. I told them that I was released to retrun to work on that Friday. Acccording to them that was ok. I requested to be released to return to work becasue fo things that I had heard about their treatment of employees. On Tuesday, HR called and told me that I needed to see them bfore i returned to work. I went to the HR department on Wednesday and told that my FMLA had been up two weeks, and that I had the opportuniyt to resign or be fired. I told them to fire me, as I had already talked to an attorney. How is that for treating someone who has devoted their life to taking care of people, after 25 years of nursing people, they throw me out because I have been sick! According to the attorney, I have and was not the only one that this has been done to! SO BEWARE OF FORREST GENERAL, there are a lot of other hospitals that appreicate and are loyal to their employees!
