American National Life Insurance Company Of Texas MISLEADING HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY RIP OFF

Beware of misleading policy especially to cancer patients! I am writing this in hopes of saving anyone from our experience with this company.

Purchased policy over 6 yrs ago, catastrophic with ten thousand deductible, paid extra for coverage to include chemo and radiation treatments for cancer. Our policy does not cover any outpatient services, however coverage for day surgery in a medical facility with hospital. Every year you do not make a claim your deductible goes down and we thought our claims would be better at now 2500 deductible we had reached. We had no cooperation from the beginning claims with comments denying claims that we had surgery done in a doctors office. This is state of the art new hosptial with cancer clinic.

Next it was another 10% off from anything paid stating our hospital charged more than others in the area. Due to the fact I had a lumpectomy done for breast cancer, with prechemo done before surgery to shrink tumor. This was outpatient surgery. They denied all claims for my chemo and radiation treatments.

We now sit with 100, ooo in medical bills. Also because we are now living in another state, after seeking help and sending info to the state commisioner, which did absolutely nothing, sent it to Texas commisioner and we recieved a letter from the insurance company telling us why it was not covered again. We attempted a couple attorneys and they did not want to deal with it out of state... Or possibly not enough money to pursue? So we hope all you folks out there will go through your policys and catch their loopholes for cancer treatments.

When you think are covered for cancer no matter if you have your surgery overnight stay in-hospital or not! Rarely is any lumpectomy now done as overnight, as well as some masectomys. We even tried to stay overnight but were told that would be fraudulant. Cancer is hard enough to endure but to be treating people like this, during all of it was heartless to say the least. As well as what we now are dealing with.
