Auto-charges account before you have time to try product and cancel

My husband, like Jennifer's (another report), ordered Viapren off the internet. Shipping was deducted on Wednesday, July 18. (It MAY have cost all of two dollars for the mailer and postage.) The product arrived in our mailbox on Friday, July 20.

On Tuesday, July 24, our account was automatically charged $49.90!! This was hardly enough time to try the product and cancel! My husband called the company's 800 number today (Tuesday, July 24) and after being on hold a long time, someone answered. My husband stated that he wanted to cancel his order and be refunded the full amount charged out account. The company spokesperson said that the product had already been mailed and all that he could do would be to credit our account $15! My husband said that would not be satisfactory, that we would return the product and expected a full refund. The company spokeperson then said that wasn't possible and all he could give us back was $15!

I immediately called our bank and reported the charge from this company as fraudulent. My bank is reversing the charge to my account and recouping the money from this company.in addition, we cancelled my husband's credit card.

The number Jennifer included in a previous report is no longer in service. That number is 408-247-8967. The number that did work (after being on hold for 20 minutes or so) is 800-548-9554.

Thank goodness Jennifer and people like her file these reports. It helps to know you're not alone when ripped off by these unethical businesses! So that's why I'm adding my information here. Blessings to all you good people.
