Negligence causes death of family memebe

My brother went in for diabetes problem. He complained about the lack of care and information. He complained especially about the bed, which he could not get down from because it was A) Set too high and he was afraid he might fall B) If he tried to roll over during the night the rails were not set properly and he might fall out.

Long story short, he did fall and broke both of his legs. This set the stage for having to get one leg amputated eventually.

This led to continued blood pressure problems, He eventually went in to Emory for a minor heart procedure where the heart muscle is ablated via a catheter. He survived the procedure only to choke to death hours later on a cracker while in his room (they brought him back, but he was brain dead) We let him go days later at the advice of the neurosurgeon there-

By the way, the physician team called me hours after this accident and the first thing they said was that my brother caused his own death due to his failure to follow orders. Not even a 'I'm sorry to tell you this'. Really callous.

Why didn't they monitor him? What really happened that day after surgery? Did they purposely withhold proper treatment because they knew he was going to sue them for causing the accident in the first place? The level of care is terrible. Do not take your loved ones to this hosptial.
