Health & Medicine

While completing a survey I clicked a box for information for a weight-loss product called "Hoodia". Within an hour, a woman called me to answer questions, tell me about the trial offer and take my order. Pay S/H only for 2 weeks supply then either cancel or it will become a $60.00 automatic delivery. The woman didn't give me her name or tell me how I could reach her again. I gave her a credit card number for the $5.00 S/H fee.

When I recieved the product, it came in a brown envelope with no return address, no invoice in the pkg, no receipt for mmonies paid - nothing but a bottle of pills.

I called about a week later to cancel the auto delivery order. 2 weeks later I received a letter regarding
The eCurves Club House, of which I was apparently a member. With lots of digging, I was finally told that the membership was part of the TruGenix Hoodia program. I was completely unaware of this program however the woman to whom I spoke assured me that if I read the "Terms & Conditions" on the web site it was all explained that another $27 and change would be added to my Visa card - in fact the first payment had already been deducted from my account.

I told the woman I had never seen or signed anything regarding the Hoodia program - as I had ordered by phone with someone who had called me. She told me I had and just didn't remember it. I asked for a supervisor who told me, in the same exact words, that I was wrong and the company would not refund any money. She told me I could go to their website to cancel. When I did, I learned I needed a login name and password to access the site. I called the company again and was given the information I needed. I re-entered the site for the second time and filled out all the forms just as I was instructed to do. When I hit the submit button I got an error mesage about a SLQ Server error #80040e21 and told me to check the OLE DB status value. HUH??? I logged out and tried a second time with the same results. Thinking it might have been my computer, I went to my neighbor's to use her computer. I got the same message. I called the company back and told them - they said I could only cancel on line. I got the supervisor who told me she had just pulled up the site and completed my cancellation. Again I was told there would be no refund.

This time when I called I wrote down the name used to answer the phone - Ultra Lite Fitness, although when I asked the name of the corporation I was told eCurves Club House. So I called TruGenix again and the woman answered the phone "Ultra Life Fitness" I again got the same story aabout when I ordered Hoodia, it was stated in the T&C that I was also joining eCurves.

That same day I received another shipment of Hoodias in the mail - even though I had cancelled and had a cancelation number. I called my bank and was told a $70 some dollar charge had been deducted by the Hoodia company. Od course, when I called TruGenix again, the woman assured me the charge would be removed and I could keep the second bottle for nothing.

None of this is making sense to me. Niether charge has been removed from my Visa account. But nobody knows nuthin for either company. I haven't found the corp Ultra Life Fitness yet.

AND, the pills didn't work at all! Whoa - that was great therapy!
