Inconsistent messenging regard policy from their employees Ripoff

I recently moved to an area where there is not a Bally Total Fitness close by (16 miles). After moving I called the customer service contact as directed on the corporate web site. The individual I spoke with informed me of the procedure to cancel and stopped the automatic payment from the account. I complied to the letter of the instruction (including sending a $50 check for a cancellation fee) only to receive frequent collection calls. The last representative stated that what I was told was incorrect and the contract states 25 miles and 20 miles is accepted as a "courtesy" and went further to state that he could not accept what I was told even though in the file because "he was not there to witness it". Believe me, that's a quote. Bottom line is that I will honor the contract but frankly is has become obvious that this company is one to avoid. The gym experiece is fine but the business end of their enterprise is severely lacking. If anyone has senior management contact information I would appreciate it so that I may pursue any sort of remedy. The best I have able to do so far is a low level supervisor from their collection goon squad whose best solution is to state "did you read the contract?" Yes, another quote. Thank you.
