I paid over $300 to FX SMILE in Lewisville to have my teeth whitened. Their website states "... Your teeth are then treated with hydrogen peroxide and a dental grade UV light is used as a catalyst. The process is repeated as needed."

First let me say that I don't drink or smoke, so my teeth are just an "average" yellow from age (40) and from drinking cokes. I was really excited about the process and so I paid to do the "in office" treatment of $299 plus tax.

After the process was over I walked out of the dental chair area to a mirror to see the results, and my husbands first comment just as I was about to look in the mirror was "I don't even see a difference". As I looked in the mirror I realized that I couldn't tell a difference either. The receptionist was a very nice young girl and she admitted that she couldn't tell a difference either. She said the dentist had another appointment and was booked for the evening, but that I could reschedule at no cost. Even though it meant a long drive back to the mall I said ok. (My appointment was 6:00 in the evening, so he was leaving after the next appt.)

The following morning she called and very apologically told me she had talked to her boss and he said I would have to pay again. She was a very sweet girl and told me she didn't understand why they wouldn't redo the process. She said she knew that was the right thing to do and if it were her business or decision to make that I could have another appointment.

I got her bosses name and # and called him. I believe his name was Josh. He sounded young. After much back and forth argueing, it still boiled down to the fact that the only way I could have another appointment was to pay another $299 plus tax.

So basically I may as well have thrown $300 out the window.
