Dr. Michael Bardard DDS PA, Deepali Jethwa DDS rip-off! Unethical work practices!

I set up my 1st appt. To have my teeth cleaned w / Dr. Barnard on Wed. 12/01/04. Over the phone I was quoted $87 for the 1st visit which was to inlcude x-rays and a cleaning. I arrived on time and was taken in to have my x-rays done. They were done in 10 minutes and a lady, Deepali Jethwa DDS came in to "look" at my teeth w/a small mouth mirror for 2 minutes, if that. I was told I have an infection in one tooth, prescribed antibiotics, and was told to "watch" and see if the infection gets worse? I was then brought to the desk to pay and set up my next appt. For the cleaning. This is absurd, I wanted both services done in the same visit. I left work early to have that done.

Needless to say I was extremely upset when I paid and I left telling the recept. I would not be back. There response was that I'm on Ameriplan which is not insurance and that's why I was being charged so much. No one cared that I was quoted $87 over the phone for the cleaning, x-rays, etc. They made me feel like I was at fault for choosing Ameriplan. I went home and referred to the pricing book and nowhere in ther could I see how they got $87 for my services. X-rays=$35, initial consult.=$25. They must've thrown in a charge for "showing up".
