Bad AC adapter / charge

I'd bought a notebook charger to get a compaq presario 3000 in May. This general charger malfunctioned and shorted-out while getting used on the resort sleep in Sept. Fortunately a harmful flame was prevented just due to the odor of burning plastic.organization declined to react to three emails and undoubtedly they'd a real address shown on the site with no telephone. Fraud. I'd like my 15-20 bucks back or perhaps a substitute device.
