My wife and I went to Mall of Georgia and spoke with Joe Cha in regards to getting my Nextell # switched to Cingular and a new line for my wife. After discussing the promotion we wanted to know what accesories came with the phones. He said that the standard Charger and a car charger was included along with any rebates on the actual phone. He also stated that since we were getting service for two people that cingular would only charge a one time activation fee of $35.00 instead of the usual $35.00 per person.

Joe stated that we would be able to get the new line immediatly and it would take a day to get the Nextell # pulled over. We agreed to this and began the proceedure. Several attempts and about an hour later, Joe was unable to get into his computer to process application. He apologized and said that since we waited so long he would wave the activation fee completly. He then told us to come back the next night to pick up our phones.

When I showed up around 5:30 pm to pick up the phones, they were not ready and Joe was not in. He did not leave any info with the current sales person. This person called Joe to get the scoop. Joe told him that he did not get to it and would try later. They put me on the phone with Joe and he stated that Nextells line was down and that he would not be able to get this done and was not sure when he could. I asked why he did not call to let me know so I would not have to drive out of my way. After a pause he said that he would just have to keep trying.

Remember at this time my credit has been pulled and approved. We have no phones or accesories in our custody, and I will be coming back at an unknown date for the third time.

The best part is that He told me that the activation fee could not be waived, due to it being a one time deal and that it was Nextells sytem done and causing the problems, not Cingulars. Frustrated with his no excuse to call and let me know, I told him to just cancel. He said OK.

The problem is that we want the service, but do not want our credit pulled again or to deal with Joe. We also feel that the activation fees need to be dropped due to the promises that we were made and the waste of our time. We have tried several times to call cingular and put an official complaint in but have had no sucess. Any one have a Corporate Cingular phone #?
