Didnt repair equipment does not honor his word

Brought an amp to Stereo Surgeons in East Hartford ct. Was charged a 30 dollar assesmant fee. Then charged 70 plus dollars for parts. Was informed after a week amp was fixed. Paid an additional 100 dollars for service fees.

Got amp home it worked for a week. Then stopped working. Called stereo surgeons up and informed them the amp repair failed. Was told I was within my 3 month warranty and to bring it back. Was informed and I quote "We take care of our customers" He has had the amp for a year!

Went there today after speaking with him 2 weeks ago and he said at that time he was overwhelmed with work but he would focus on it and get it done. Just got back home after having gone there today and the amp is still not fixed.

He said give him til next tuesday. To day is thursday. He's had it a year and still he needs 4 more days. My assesment is he is not going to fix the amp nor does he want to return it. The place when I went there today was extremely unorganized. A lot of amps in the front room like he is getting ready to move.

It was not at all looking like that a year ago when I went in there. My gut feeling is this. He is probably on hard times. I think he is losing his business and probably in the throws of moving everything. I believe he is going to skip town and keep what amps he has to probably sell them on craigslist or ebay so he can make the money. I have no proof of this but something tells me he is planning this.

I read a review of someone saying after they interacted with him they felt he was unbalanced. He gets mad very quickly. I can attest to a similar behavior. His responses are lashed out. I do not feel comfortable to go there to get my amp. I will go there next week like he told me to. If my amp is not done Im going to the East Hartford police department and file a complaint.

End result he got a coule hundred dollars of my money and now has a very special 1959 tube mono block amp of mine that is worth between 500 to 1000 dollars. That would be my rough guestimate. I'm completely discusted with this situation and utterly disastisfied with the service at stereo surgeons. He can keep my 200 bucks I want my amp back. It is my property and I have a right to that. As far as Im concerned until I get my amp back he is a thief.

The police should look into this persons establishment.
