Passport, escort radar escort refuses to warranty my product

I purchased a brand-new radar detector from someone on eBay and the box was sealed. Before I purchased the product I asked the gentleman to give me the serial number to verify the status of the unit with escort directly. I called up and had one of their customer service people register my unit and verify that the unit has a one-year parts and labor warranty. I would've not purchased this unit without a warranty and thought calling escort directly with address any potential issues before purchase. Several months after owning the unit I decided to buy the extended warranty and called escort again to purchase it directly from a customer service rep. They told me they could not warranty the unit because it was purchased on eBay which they proceeded to say was all over their website. Front of their website and the registration page had no mention of warranties are void from any kind of eBay transactions. Furthermore, I called escort initially to verify the serial number and purchase before the transaction and now after the fact there is no warranty leaving me with no recourse. I've taken several screenshots with no warning of eBay purchases to be found. Buyer beware, I would not do business with this company ever again and feel the company is trying to price fix their retail which is against the Robertson Patman act. It's ridiculous that someone decides to sell their unit which was purchased brand-new and escort arbitrarily eliminates the warranty so it does not affect one of their dealers.
