We purchased a Toshiba (our third) REGZA HD LCD television (47HL167) in 12/07. Within 8 months video problems developed involving vertical bands on the screen. Our local dealer (who's sold us three Toshiba's), Leon's in Woodland, CA sent the set to Videotech in Sacramento for repair. After a 5 WEEK wait, they finally returned it 10/3/08, saying they'd replaced the LCD panel and Y board (under warranty). Now, less than 2 1/2 years after that problem was supposedly fixed, it's returned again, only worse, with larger vertical bands and dirty appearing patches across the screen.

The dealer says, "sorry bout that, " and suggested we contact Toshiba to see if other consumers had suffered this same problem, and if there was any solution.

Toshiba's solution at Consumer Products, e-mail: www.tacp. Toshiba.com was, "sorry bout that, your warranty expired."
If this is the reliability we can expect (less then 3 years), from future Toshiba products, you have certainly lost a customer (who had been contemplating the purchase of a Toshiba laptop).
