Unlock HTC HD2 Unlock codes for HD2, Unlock your cell phone

This site offered to retrieve unlock codes from an ID number on an HTC HD2 cell phone for 20 dollars. It claimed over and over that it takes 10 minutes, but then you get an email saying 0-24 hours. The more you look at it the scammier it looks. Out of country, paypal name was sushant saraswat and the auto response emails came it bad English. Well see if we get a code out of it but its been hours which last I checked was longer than 10 minutes.
Another way to get a code to unlock your phone is to call T-Mobile who originally carried the product and they give it for free to customers in good standing. However they said it could take a week and I wanted to get the new phone up and running for my GF and thought it would be worth 20 bucks.
I still think I might get the code from them but Im livid that they would flat out lie so badly on their order page. Who even knows how those dumb codes work or who controls them and why in the fricking world in this day and age would receiving a number in an email cost a dime. I guess this is just an extension of the overall communications scam of using public bandwidth and tax payer created technologies to rob us.
