Ripoff not honoring maintenance agreement on new tv, dvd player combo

I bought a new Sylvania TV/DVD/VCR unit with a 2yr maintenance agreement. I can't play any DVD all the way through without the DVD player locking up. (I have tried many new DVDS). I have carried this into the shop 2 times and they say they can find no problem.
They will not come to my house without charging me $55.00 since my maint agreement is a carry in only. They insist they can find no problem yet I can not get through any DVD without a lockup. Seems the DVD player is overheating.

I called Customer Service to stage a complaint and I was told I would probably have to take it out of my TV armoire, although believe me when I say it is large enough to accomodate this unit with air flow around it. I now have rearranged my house in order to put the TV on a TV stand and it still locks up. It seems if customer service knows of a design issue with this TV they would admit that. They also told me I could call the Lemon number to stage a complaint but they probably wouldn't do anything since they have not found any issue with this unit.

I am left with a TV that I can't play DVDs on and can not hook up a separate DVD player as there are no jacks. And this combo TV has a warranty (supposedly for another year and 1/2). I am so disappointed with Sears over this I am vowing not to spend another dime there. I have bought so many items, appliances and maintenance agreements in the last 20 years, but I am here to say that Sears is not the company it used to be.
My next plan is to go to the shop with the TV and refuse to leave until we play a DVD entirely through but why should someone go through such a hassle!!
