I purchased a TV with Conns as my first purchase. Then I went back and purchased a zero turn. Each time we put down a sizeable down payment. Then earlier this year about March we purchased a Laptop with them. My husband the next day saw a better laptop with more memory and cheaper. We decided to return it. That was a nightmare after arguing with them for an hour that they were NOT giving us the correct refund we got the full amount of our refund back. A couple of months later our zero turn was stolen. We contacted the police made our police report and took that down to Conn's. Their insurance company paid the claim. However, we should have gotten money back to us. After the insurance claim was paid they stated that we still owed money. Everytime someone called me they would give me a different amount. I continued to let them know that we DID NOT owe them any money that they owed us. My husband spoke with them and told them to mail us a copy of our accont. They did so. The account print out shows that our NET PAYOFF BALANCE is $38.29!!! That's it! I called them back in Aug after I received that and tried to pay off my account. The lady in the collection department told me there was no way my account payoff balance was that and I needed to make my $120.00 monthly payment because now I was 60 days past due. Remember, the insurance department has had my account on hold due to the loss of the zero turn, so there's no way I'm 60 days past due!!! I told her I wanted to speak to a supervisor. He got on the phone and I proceded to tell him about my account print out and he told me he didn't know what I was talking about and to throw that paper away it was inaccurate!!! Now it's December and my account is still open and they are refusing any payment unless I pay $120 per month on interest of an item that I clearly returned!!! Also, they are reporting the all 3 credit bureaus that I'm now 5 months past due!!! I recently spoke with Nina (collections' department) and a supervisor Ms Espree and they both told me that my payoff balance is in fact $38.29 and that they don't understand why my account is still open!
