Vegas Foto took my camera and stole my money

Electronics and household app.

On December 26th my girlfriend and myself was on a few days vacation in Las Vegas. We happen to pass by Vegas Foto and was happy to have found this shop on the strip. I was interested in purchasing a camcorder even though I did not know much about it.

My girlfriend and I went into the shop and I explained I looking for a camcorder that could take sharp photos especially at night and could also do recording of short films. A sales associate called John showed me an Olympia DV-777 Camera. He said this was one of the best product they had and even though I have not heard of the Olympia brand before I trusted him fully that he was being honest with me. He showed me how to take pictures and how to do recordings etc.

He totally convinced me I was getting the best deal and so I purchased the camcorder for a total of $630.15. The sales associate took the camera and accessories out of the box and put everything in a plastic bag which I found strange but did not complain. He gave this to me and wished me "happy holidays".

I had not had much time to test the camera as 2days later I had to fly back home. When I got home and started using the camera, I found I could not take clear pictures after dusk. These were all fuzzy. Also the recordings were dark as if there was not enough lighting. I took the camcorder to a local camera shop and they explained that the camcorder was a cheap version as it did not have any kind of lighting/flash to make clear or sharp pictures at night.

I tried calling Vegas Foto with this complaint (for months) but to no avail. No one picked up. I contacted my credit card company American Express and they confirmed I should send back the camcorder with an accompanying letter stating the problem and to request a credit back.

I did this and have received proof from the shipper that the camcorder was delivered to Vegas Foto but I still have not heard anything from them. I have now tried everything I can think of to get my money back still nothing.

Can anyone help/advise me please! I even contacted the Las Vegas Local Police but they said this is a civil matter and they could not help me. I really hope someone can
