IOS Telephone
$16.04 for less than 60 seconds on the phone

Electronics and household app.

Cell phone died and I had to find a payphone to make an emergency call... I didn't have any change (just dollar bills which payphones of course don't accept) and went through the song and dance of making a call with my debit card.

Checked my bank account a couple days later to see a charge of $16.04 for a phone call that was less than a minute. Called my bank, got their number, and called them.

After sitting on hold for 10 minutes with ridiculously loud music, I finally talk to someone who kept saying, "Well you should have asked for the charges. You always have to request the fees." I'm sorry, do you ask how much it's going to be when it's an emergency? It already took me long enough to give them all my information when I originally PLACED the call (name, credit card #, address phone number I'm calling).

He offered me 50% off "as a courtesy" and I asked if that was it and he said they don't even have to offer that so I said whatever and took it. $8.02 is STILL ridiculous but I guess it's better than getting nothing back.

Bottom line - keep quarters in your pocket at all times.
