Data plan charges even without actually using it

I am not paying att bill directly but pays for my share. I was charged for data plan usages and looked at the details of charges, charges are made on 2:00 am at which time i am sleeping and not using my phone. I don't know how to stop the charges because the phone actually access the web by itself without me accessing it.
