Purchased the telephone on May 9 for my elderly mother (age 91), that was being moved into an Assisted Living home, to replace a phone with a cracked screen. I explained what the purpose of the phone was and that it was to be her primary means of contact; they told me that the tower was here in Algonquin and service should be great. The coverage map also show that should be the case.

On May 10th., she tried to call me (I am only 2-1/2 miles away), and the call dropped. She tried several more times and each call dropped. I went over to her apartment and tried to contact the service dept. On her Cricket and each and every call was dropped (their answering system keeps you on the phone at least one or two minutes with ads before connecting you to the selection menu.

Finally I took the phone back to the store and requested a refund; I was told that I could not get a refund because there was over 30 minutes on the phone (all of the minutes was to tech support). I began calling tech support for my land line and was told to have a 91 year old with bad legs (use a walker) to go anywhere she can get 3 bars.

I was given the number to call the service location that is supposed to be open on Saturdays and can never get through. The phone just ring and then hangs up on you; no message. The regional manager in Georgia will not ever authorize a refund.

By the way, mom's old phone works just fine from where she lines without any towers being close to her.

No one will give me a telephone number to call for Corporate.
