Questionable sells

Purchased X-Box 360 later portion of Sept. 2008. Was informed i would recieve second controller at a later date. Wife was informed while i was present of warrenty. Thanksgiving morning 2008 X-Box stoped working. Contacted Rent-a-Center following morning over this issue. Was then informed i had no warrenty, as i had flat out purchased this item. After removing casing and looking at circuit board. I discovered this item had been repaired in the past by some one. As it had what appeared to be some type of earaser looking material on four electrical parts. I contacted Rent-a-Center again, This time i was informed i had voided warrenty by removing the cover. Not more than 30 minutes earlier i was told i didn't have a warrenty. What of second controller I have yet to hear anything about, and the X-Box 360?
