Glass cooktop cracked

I bought a GE monogram 36 in gasoline on glass cooktop. It's been mounted for 5 monhs. I visited get a skillet top from my table. It had been a maximum of several inches from my table when my hand offered out also it tucked out-of my hand. It struck the fringe of the glass cooktop also it broke and required a chip from the glass. Personally I think these shouldn't break that quickly. It costs over half the cost to obtain it changed. After having it just a couple weeks personally I think changing it's silly if it breaks that quickly. GE won't protect any factor under warrenty and sometimes even deliver somebody to check out it without having getting me the support phone of $95.00. I'd not reccomend this to anybody. The skillet address wasn't huge one I believe it simply damaged since it struck the fringe of the glass. Something which costs that much shouldn't occur. May add a photograph.
