Possible login scam

I never had an account with blue hippo and thank God I didnt after reading several complaints. I just wanted to make it aware that when I go to the website... It aks for log-in info, but it doesnt give any option to "create new account" which is weird. So it says your login ID should be your ssn, and then it says off to the left that your password is usually your mother's maiden name. That just seemed odd to me because thats usually the info you need to provide in order to get credit. I did enter my social (before i read the complaints) hoping it would bring me to another screen... But i didnt feel comfortable entering my mother's maiden name. I'm not a huge computer person, so I'm wondering if they can screw me over somehow with just my social???
