Predatory Lending Practices

Despite contacting Dell to inform them that the final payment on my computer would be late, they charged $786.77 in interest and late fees when the balance owed was only $507.42.

I have offered repeatedly in writing to DFS and now to their collection agency, Encore, to pay the balance of $507.42, which they have refused. The amount they say is currently due is $1401.99, and I even told Encore today to tell DFS I would settle for 50% of that amount, or $700.99 just to clear this matter.

DFS has told Encore they would not accept any less than 80%, which is what they would have done directly, and I refused to accede to their predatory lending practices.
