Rohde & Schwarz makes very high end electronic test equipment used throughout the world in industry. Some of these items cost $50,000 to $100,000 or more brand new. They generally are known for good quality accurate equipment. The problem with it is the after warranty service. Beware! If you are unfortunate enough to own one of these instruments that is no longer under warranty you will be faced with some real problems.
1st - they don't provide schematics for their products making it very difficult if not impossible for anyone else to repair.

2nd - They don't sell parts except modules which will cost $5,000 or more each in many cases.

3rd - Since they don't supply schematics or parts at reasonable prices you will be forced to send the instrument to R&S for repair and will face firm price repair charges of $5,000 or more in many cases regardless of how simple the repair may be for them.
4th - If the unit has multiple problems they may charge up to $20,000 or more for repair.

5th - If the unit is over 10 years old or more in many cases they will refuse to service it at all, leaving you with a $50,000 investment that is essentially worthless and unrepairable.

This all adds up to more money and profit for them, but a lot of dissatisfied, frustrated, unhappy customers down the line. But you won't find out until you have problems, need service, and the unit is out of warranty.

To put it bluntly - There service really stinks!
